About Andy
For most of my time as an adult, I have had some difficulty selecting my favorite medium of storytelling. I left high school with a profound love of the world of technical theater and an equally deep interest in film and video production. Deciding I might enjoy pursuing the latter just a bit more, I began my college career at DeSales University as a TV/Film major. It was there where, over the course of four years, I would deepen my enjoyment for lighting and camerawork, ultimately leading me to be a proficient gaffer and cinematographer on student-run productions. However, over those four years I had not forgotten my love of the theater, and just as soon as I began honing my filmmaking skills, I was also beginning work towards a minor in technical theater with a concentration in lighting. In May 2017 I graduated from DeSales University not only with a fantastic working knowledge of film production, editing, lighting, and cinematography, but also with vast experience in theatrical lighting design, being a master electrician, and lighting console operation.
Right out of college I began by career at Advanced Staging Productions in West Chester, PA - a company specializing in corporate Audio Visual production - as a lighting technician. Over the next three years I grew to meet the challenges of lighting larger and larger productions with the help of my friends and mentors I worked alongside.
Then, a little thing called COVID shook the world and live events weren’t in demand anymore - but virtual events were! I took what I knew as a filmmaker and helped spin up a mini-editing department at ASP in order to fulfil our clients’ needs for video-based conferences. Over the next several years that editing department grew into what we now call the “Visual Media” department, a fully equipped video production house inside of Advanced Staging. I currently sit as the lead of the department, managing all of our video production projects.
